Neerby ("we," "us," or "our") is a local event discovery platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Location data — When you open Neerby, we request access to your device's GPS location to show you events nearby. Location is used only within the app to sort and filter events by distance. We do not store your location on our servers.
- Event submissions — If you submit an event, we collect the information you provide: event title, date, venue, description, and optionally your name, email address, and phone number. This information is stored in our database and may be displayed publicly on the platform once your event is approved.
How We Use Your Information
- To display events sorted by distance from your location
- To send you a confirmation email when you submit an event (if you provide your email)
- To contact you if we have questions about your event submission
- To display your event and contact details publicly on Neerby once approved
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not require account creation or registration to browse events
- We do not use tracking cookies or advertising pixels
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties
- We do not track your browsing behavior across other websites
Third-Party Services
We use third-party service providers to host the application, provide security services, and deliver transactional emails. These providers may process limited technical data such as IP addresses in the course of providing their services. We do not sell or share your personal information with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.
Data Retention
Event submission data is retained as long as the event is listed on Neerby. You may request removal of your event and associated contact information at any time by contacting us at hello@neerby.io.
Children's Privacy
Neerby is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Neerby after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
